This circulated around Facebook once upon a time and I randomly decided to try it out again. Here’s what you do: go into your music player, put it on random, and then see what song plays for each category (i.e. 1st song to play= Opening credits, 2nd song to play= Waking Up.. etc).

The following comprises the soundtrack to my life:

Opening Credits

Lyrics worth noting: “Live through this and you won’t look back” =I take it that if my life were a movie, I am about to go through some sort of obstacle? Trial or tribulation? Strong words. I love this song; the original version is the song that got me into Stars.

Waking Up

[clearspring_widget title=”Grooveshark Widget: Single Song” wid=”48f3f305ad1283e4″ pid=”4b20474f1e0a75cc” width=”400″ height=”50″ domain=”widgets.clearspring.com”]

Thinking of this kind of makes me giggle. Seems like an unfortunate one-night stand.

First Day At School

Another fantastic band, which I adore.

Falling In Love

Don’t get a really strong feeling from this song. It’s not one of my favourite Doves tracks.

Breaking Up

[clearspring_widget title=”Grooveshark Widget: Single Song” wid=”48f3f305ad1283e4″ pid=”4b20539d2b6952a5″ width=”400″ height=”50″ domain=”widgets.clearspring.com”]
I was actually surprised how well this song(“Freedom”) fits. Pinky swear it really came up for this category. Oh David Gray, why must you pull so hard? My hear strings can only take so much.

Prom

[clearspring_widget title=”Grooveshark Widget: Single Song” wid=”48f3f305ad1283e4″ pid=”4b205451878b3120″ width=”400″ height=”50″ domain=”widgets.clearspring.com”]
Another great song.  God, I love this band.

Life’s OK

[clearspring_widget title=”Grooveshark Widget: Single Song” wid=”48f3f305ad1283e4″ pid=”4b2055202a1f2fab” width=”400″ height=”50″ domain=”widgets.clearspring.com”]
Sometimes lyrics are not necessary, and have a stronger effect. I really like how upbeat the melody is. It’s easy to listen to, and I don’t find it annoying like other pure instrumental songs.

Breakdown

Leave it to Kings of Leon for their awesome guitar riffs=decent breakdown feel.

Driving

[clearspring_widget title=”Grooveshark Widget: Single Song” wid=”48f3f305ad1283e4″ pid=”4b2056a86b51500e” width=”400″ height=”50″ domain=”widgets.clearspring.com”]
Another band I really enjoy, but I have to be in the right mood. Although, not one of my favoured tracks, I can picture myself rocking out in the car with friends to this.

Flashback

[clearspring_widget title=”Grooveshark Widget: Single Song” wid=”48f3f305ad1283e4″ pid=”4b20578cc40ce768″ width=”400″ height=”50″ domain=”widgets.clearspring.com”]
Lyrics that made me think: “One step in the right direction/Won’t change the world, but it’s a start/Someone’s gotta see the good in everything/That there’s more than the start to think about/That’s where the art comes out/That’s where the truth of the heart comes out”
I picture a life-changing realization, a moment where one can learn from past mistakes but moving towards something positive.

Getting Back Together

[clearspring_widget title=”Grooveshark Widget: Single Song” wid=”48f3f305ad1283e4″ pid=”4b20582c7bb02306″ width=”400″ height=”50″ domain=”widgets.clearspring.com”]
Lyrics: “Oh baby I can’t even explain/What am I supposed to do/It’s hard to stay cool/When you smile at me/And I get nervous every time you speak”
I can’t help but melt a little when I hear this song. Great band live.

Wedding

[clearspring_widget title=”Grooveshark Widget: Single Song” wid=”48f3f305ad1283e4″ pid=”4b20590abb6d8bad” width=”400″ height=”50″ domain=”widgets.clearspring.com”]
Sweet song in the non-traditional sense. I’d be happy to have this playing for my movie wedding scene.

Sex Scene

[clearspring_widget title=”Grooveshark Widget: Single Song” wid=”48f3f305ad1283e4″ pid=”4b2059d13bb4ca52″ width=”400″ height=”50″ domain=”widgets.clearspring.com”]
Maybe not the most fitting, but it could be worse.

Birth of Child

[clearspring_widget title=”Grooveshark Widget: Single Song” wid=”48f3f305ad1283e4″ pid=”4b205a8634d0fd5d” width=”400″ height=”50″ domain=”widgets.clearspring.com”]
I kid you not, and no pun intended.

Final Battle

[clearspring_widget title=”Grooveshark Widget: Single Song” wid=”48f3f305ad1283e4″ pid=”4b205b41c48376d5″ width=”400″ height=”50″ domain=”widgets.clearspring.com”]
I really want my final battle scene to be a mix between a battle and a dance off. I can just picture the hilarity.

Death Scene

[clearspring_widget title=”Grooveshark Widget: Single Song” wid=”48f3f305ad1283e4″ pid=”4b205c6d2937ac05″ width=”400″ height=”50″ domain=”widgets.clearspring.com”]
I don’t know what it is, but with certain tracks I find A.C Newman’s voice comforting.

Funeral Song

[clearspring_widget title=”Grooveshark Widget: Single Song” wid=”48f3f305ad1283e4″ pid=”4b205d5c00ce0d98″ width=”400″ height=”50″ domain=”widgets.clearspring.com”]
A little on the funky side for a funeral song, but not bad.

Dance Sequence

[clearspring_widget title=”Grooveshark Widget: Single Song” wid=”48f3f305ad1283e4″ pid=”4b205df6c7abf96f” width=”400″ height=”50″ domain=”widgets.clearspring.com”]
With the joint jumping and the tarts and gates ready to ride, this scene will be a true hummer, you collar?

End Credits

[clearspring_widget title=”Grooveshark Widget: Single Song” wid=”48f3f305ad1283e4″ pid=”4b205ee61a9372c7″ width=”400″ height=”50″ domain=”widgets.clearspring.com”]
Happy to end the soundtrack of my life with this song.
